These are a few samples of the Peyote stitch or style of beadweaving.  Along with the #11 Delica beads being quite small and difficult to handle, the fact that each and every bead in a pattern is "stitched" into the tapestry one bead at a time makes this form of "art" somewhat rare and expensive.  This doesn't sound too difficult until you consider that a pattern may take 5, 10 or 20,000 beads to complete.  The "Silent Sentinel" pattern that is shown approximately 25% complete will contain over 85,000 beads when completed and measure 14 1/2" x 18" and will bring $3200 framed.
